High Perfomance Cluster

Getting Started with HPC

To make the process and introduction as easy as possible for you, we have created this page that summarizes all the important information. Additionally, our registration for the HPC runs through this page. All you have to do is fill out the form below and you will hear from us within a day.

What is the process to get access to the High-Performance-Cluster?

The first step is to fill in the form below and submit it. After that, the IT contact person will complete the HPC application for you within one day and contact you.

There you will be asked to sign the HPC application and send it back. As soon as this has happened, the HPC application is ready and will be forwarded by the IT contact person to the RRZE, which usually processes this application within one day.

The whole process from filling out the form to the HPC account, usually takes 2 days.

For the System requirement section, a rough estimate of the resources you expect to need is sufficient. Just tell us how many nodes/CPUs your simulations will need (typical jobsize), the expected runtime per simulation, and the approximate number of simulation runs you are planning (overall requested computation time). If you are unsure or need help do not hesitate to contact us. Also note that you have to provide an expiration date, usually the duration of your specific project. The duration can also be coupled to your affiliation (employee, PhD student, etc.).

    HPC Systems you need:

We usually select the standard systems, including our own Department resources. If you want this too, just type "Standard"

    Typical Job size

    Needed Computing Time

    Needed memory/Space

Short description of the Topic or Work you want to perform on the HPC

    Who is your supervisior

    Expiration date
