n-squared lab: BIONIK project kick-off

BIONIK

Today is a great day for AIBES n-squared lab! The “BIONIK” project is kicking off.

BIONIK is a BMFTR-funded START-Interaktiv project aimed at developing a “bidirectional interface between neuroorthoses and users for interactive control,” with a budget of 0.96 million euros and a duration of three years. The project is being carried out in collaboration with the FAPS Chair.

The research project investigates interactive neurotechnological interfaces that enable bidirectional communication between the nervous system and the orthosis. The central focus of the research is sensorimotor feedback, in which targeted vibrotactile stimuli modulate neural excitability and provide feedback on movement intentions via the somatosensory system.
