We are excited to share that our PhD student, Johanna P. Müller, from the IDEA Lab, received a Best Poster Award at the Bavarian Conference on AI in Medicine, held on 27–28 October 2025 in Munich.
Her poster, “Diffusing the Blind Spot: Uterine MRI Synthesis with Diffusion Models”, was selected by conference participants as one of the three top-voted posters (same number of votes). Johanna’s work focuses on generating synthetic uterine MRI data using advanced diffusion models, an important step toward improving diagnostic support, research reproducibility, and access to imaging data in women’s health. This recognition highlights both the scientific quality of the work and its potential to support better clinical care for women.
We thank all collaborators from Smart Imaging Lab at the University Hospital Erlangen, Anika Knupfer and Prof. Jana Hutter!
The Bavarian Conference on AI in Medicine brought together experts from academia, medicine, and industry from Bavaria and beyond to discuss how artificial intelligence can meaningfully contribute to healthcare. The conference featured outstanding keynote lectures by world-leading experts, including Eric Topol, Mihaela van der Schaar, Fabian Theis, and Islem Rekik.
We are proud of her achievement and look forward to seeing the next steps in this impactful line of research. Congratulations, Johanna, on this well-deserved award!
