In pursuit of knowledge and innovation, we have embarked on a transformative journey with the prestigious University of California San Francisco (UCSF). To initiate this partnership, our AIBE department, accompanied by our president, had the privilege of visiting the renowned campus of UCSF. This inaugural visit laid the groundwork for a fruitful exchange of ideas and resources, fostering collaboration and excellence.

Continuing our collaboration, members of the distinguished UCSF faculty will be visiting us in Erlangen next week. We’re delighted to host two exceptional speakers who will deliver enlightening talks on Wednesday, May 24th, at 14:00 at d.hip:

  • The Last Mile: How Can Artificial Intelligence Move from the Lab to the Clinic” by Christopher Hess, MD, PhD, Alexander R. Margulis Distinguished Professor and Chair of the Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging (UCSF).

  • Intelligent Imaging: A Focus on Joint Degeneration” by Sharmila Majumdar, PhD, Margaret Hart Surbeck Distinguished Professor and Vice Chair for Research, Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging (UCSF).

These talks promise to ignite new perspectives on AI in healthcare and intelligent imaging techniques for joint degeneration. We invite all students, faculty, and researchers from FAU and beyond to join us at d.hip on May 24th for this extraordinary occasion.
